How does Qonto's welcome bonus work in Spain?

  • Updated

Get up to €300 in bonus just by using your Qonto card during the first months of your contract 🚀

The welcome bonus is an exclusive promotion for new Qonto Spain customers that rewards card usage with a direct credit to your account, with no need to sign up or enter any promo code.

This promotion is available to organizations that sign up between September 7 and October 7, 2026 with a Team Essential, Business, or Enterprise plan in Spain, whether accessing from the web or the mobile app.

Who can benefit from the welcome bonus?

To qualify for the welcome bonus, your organization must meet the following requirements simultaneously:

  • Sign-up date: having opened a Qonto account in Spain between September 7 and October 7, 2026 (inclusive).
  • Subscribed plan: being subscribed to a Team Essential, Business, or Enterprise plan at the time of sign-up and throughout the entire qualifying period.
  • Card spend: accumulating a minimum of €1,000 per month in Qonto card payments during the first three consecutive months from the account opening (a minimum total of €3,000).

If your organization meets all three criteria, you will automatically receive the €300 in your Qonto account. No additional action is required: Qonto identifies eligible customers based on their sign-up date, the selected plan, and the accumulated card spend.

When does the promotion start and end?

The promotion runs from September 7 to October 7, 2026. Only organizations that sign up within this period can qualify for the welcome bonus.

The qualifying period starts on the date your account is opened and covers the first three consecutive months of the account's life. This period cannot be postponed or extended: if the €1,000 threshold is not reached in any of those three months, the organization automatically loses eligibility for the bonus.

Once the qualifying period is complete, Qonto will automatically check whether the conditions have been met and, if so, will credit the €300 to your account during the fourth month.

Which payments count as eligible card spend?

All payments made with your Qonto card (physical or virtual) at merchants and suppliers, whether in-store or online, count as eligible spend.

However, the following operations do not count toward the €1,000 monthly threshold:

  • Transfers (incoming and outgoing).
  • Cash withdrawals at ATMs.
  • Internal transfers between the customer's own accounts.
  • Fees, interest, surcharges, or late payment charges.
  • Refunds, cancellations, and chargebacks.
  • Payment operations that violate legal provisions, regulatory requirements, or Qonto's policies.
  • Any card operation involving quasi-cash or cash equivalents (for example, purchasing gift cards, money orders, prepaid cards, cryptocurrencies, traveler's checks, or account top-ups via card).
  • Any card operation at bars, tobacco shops, or related to betting, casinos, or other forms of gambling.
  • Any other operation that, in Qonto's reasonable judgment, does not constitute an ordinary business card payment.

☝️ The €1,000 threshold must be reached in each of the first three months independently. If in any of the three months spend falls below €1,000, the organization loses its right to the welcome bonus. The qualifying period does not restart or extend.

What happens if I change or cancel my plan?

If during the qualifying period you switch your subscription to a plan not included in the promotion (for example, Solo), your organization will no longer be eligible and will lose the right to the welcome bonus, even if you have already accumulated part of the required spend.

If you switch your subscription to a higher plan (for example, from Team Essential to Business), your eligibility remains, since you are still within the plans included in the promotion.

In the event of account closure before receiving the bonus, Qonto will not be able to pay out the bonus, regardless of the spend accumulated to date.

What happens if my account is restricted, closed, or under review?

If your Qonto account is restricted or subject to a review process during the qualifying period or at the time of verification, Qonto may temporarily suspend the eligibility check until the situation is resolved.

If the account is closed — whether by the customer's decision or by Qonto — before the €300 payout, the bonus will not be paid. Qonto reserves the right not to pay the bonus if it detects fraudulent use of the promotion or a breach of its terms of use.
