How do I use Mastercard Click to Pay with my Qonto card?

  • Updated

Mastercard Click to Pay makes online shopping faster and easier by letting you check out without manually entering your card details every time.

All Qonto Mastercard cards are automatically enrolled in Click to Pay by default, so you can start using it right away at supported merchant websites.

Click to Pay is not a feature within the Qonto app itself—it activates directly at the checkout of participating online stores.

If a merchant has integrated Click to Pay, the following logo should appear at checkout.

Which Qonto cards can I use with Click to Pay?

All Qonto Mastercard cards are automatically enrolled in Click to Pay by default and ready to use immediately.

☝️ Exception: Advertising cards are not eligible for Click to Pay. These cards cannot be enrolled and will not appear in your Click to Pay wallet.

You don't need to set up or activate anything. Your eligible cards are enrolled automatically and will appear when you shop at participating merchant websites.

Click to Pay works across all devices, including computers, smartphones, and tablets. The feature is available directly at the checkout of supported online stores, not within the Qonto app.

Why can I see my Qonto cards in Click to Pay even though I never set it up?

This is completely normal and expected behavior. All Qonto Mastercard cardholders are automatically enrolled in Click to Pay by default, which is why your cards appear in the Click to Pay wallet without any action on your part.

There is no security concern here. Automatic enrollment is a standard feature designed to make your online shopping experience more convenient from day one.

Your cards are protected by the same security measures as any other online payment, and you maintain full control over how you use them.

I can see cards that don't belong to me in my Click to Pay wallet. What should I do?

This situation can occur if you share a phone number with another Qonto user—for example, a colleague or a shared company phone.

Mastercard uses both your email address and phone number to create your Click to Pay identity. When two users share the same phone number, Mastercard may link them under a single wallet, making both users' cards visible to each other.

Important: This is not a data breach or security issue. It's a side effect of how Mastercard identifies users in the Click to Pay system.

You have two options to resolve this:

  • Opt out of Click to Pay entirely: Contact our customer care team to remove your cards from Click to Pay
  • Change your phone number: Update your phone number in your Qonto account settings so Mastercard creates a separate identity for you

Contact our customer care team and we'll guide you through whichever option you prefer.

How do I opt out of Click to Pay?

If you don't wish to have your cards enrolled in Click to Pay, you can opt out at any time. Simply contact our customer care team and we'll process your opt-out request for you.

Processing time: Opt-out requests are processed once per day in batches. Your request will be registered immediately, but the change will take effect the following business day (D+1). This means your cards will be removed from Click to Pay within 24 hours of your request.

Reversible decision: Opting out is fully reversible. If you change your mind later, just contact our customer care team again and we'll reactivate Click to Pay for your account. The same one-day processing delay applies to opt-in requests.

After opting out, you can still use your Qonto cards for online purchases—you'll simply need to enter your card details manually at checkout instead of using Click to Pay.

Why can't I see my cards in Click to Pay, or why are they still visible after opting out?

If you opted in but can't see your cards:

There are several possible reasons why your cards aren't appearing:

  • Timing: Your opt-in request was submitted today and hasn't been processed yet. Changes take effect the day after the request is registered, so check again in 24 hours.
  • Card type: Your card is an advertising card, which is not eligible for Click to Pay and cannot be enrolled.
  • Merchant compatibility: The online store you're shopping at doesn't support Click to Pay. The feature is only available on participating merchant websites.

If you opted out but your cards are still visible:

If you submitted your opt-out request today, please note that changes take effect the following business day. Your cards should disappear from Click to Pay within 24 hours.

If your cards are still visible more than 24 hours after your confirmed opt-out, please contact our customer care team with your card details and we'll investigate the issue right away.
